Gutiérrez, Jerónima (the wife of Juan Pablos, Gerónima, or Jerónima Núñez)

It is thought that Jerónima Gutiérrez simply administered Pablos’s press until it was leased by Pedro Ocharte. However, research by Rosa María Fernández Zamora (2006, 2009) indicates that the book Psalterium chorale (1563) was published with Jerónima Gutiérrez listed as “the wife of Juan Pablos, printer, deceased” – a mark that may indicate her as the first female printer in the New World.
