Martínez, Enrico, d. 1632

Enrico Martínez (Henrich Martin, Enrico Martínez) was born in Hamburg, Germany, between 1550 and 1560. However, he moved with his family to Seville at a young age. In 1589, he arrived in Mexico and was appointed royal cosmographer. Having a speaking proficiency in German, Latin, Spanish, French, and English, he was also an interpreter for the Holy Office. Martínez worked as a printer between 1599 and 1611, publishing Compendio de la excelencias de la bvlla de la Sancta Cruzada in 1599. He died in 1632.
