Mexican Biblioiconography

The Mexican Biblioiconography Repository of the 16th and 17th centuries compiles the iconographic elements in books published in Mexico City during that period. Each engraving is described, analyzed, and encoded according to the iconography's relationship with the text. Illustrations in 16th-century publications were extracted from the digitized books in the Primeros Libros de las Américas project and those from the 17th century were compiled from digitized copies in Open Access.
